Have you ever tried to walk around in shoes that don’t fit? Depending on how small the shoe is, that experience can range from mildly uncomfortable to wildly painful. Which is kind of how it feels to operate a business with outdated branding that no longer represents you.

Laine, a wedding planner with an incredible eye and unmatched aesthetic vision, was feeling that pain. She came to me, your resident web and brand designer with a passion for the unusual, because she wanted something bold, edgy, and cool. I was over the moon to elevate her vision and help her step into a new era of Laine Palm Designs!

The Vision

Laine is cool. There’s simply no other way to describe her. She’s got the funkiest personal style, an effortless confidence, and she is really, really good at what she does. On the surface, her brand and website were fine. They were pretty. They worked. But they didn’t capture Laine’s cool girl energy or chic style.

In our initial conversation, Laine said her brand felt old and boring, and she wanted weddings she found exciting. She wanted to attract nontraditional couples who wanted extraordinary events. She said it best herself: “I want it to be cohesive, feel like it is actually me… make it higher end, chic, but bold. I want to be perceived by clients as cool as fuck. Trustworthy. Worth the dollars. Edgy, willing to stretch the ideas of tradition.”

I was obsessed with her vision and got to work creating an artistic, sexy, layered brand that would emphasize all the things that set Laine apart.

The Process

Wedding planner branding can be especially challenging. Because I’m not just creating a brand that represents the planner, I’m also researching their ideal clients and designing a brand that appeals to them. After talking with Laine and learning more about her goals for her business, I knew exactly how to mesh her unique personality with colors and designs that would signal to the nontraditional couples she wanted to attract.

Laine’s new brand needed to be distinctive. I wanted to strike that balance between professional and visually interesting, finding something that felt classic with a funky twist. I used a mix of fonts to create the primary logo and pulled from sculptural inspiration to create an anagram mark. I’m especially proud of that anagram, since it incorporates the evil eye symbology, which is right up Laine’s alley!

After we perfected the brand, we got started on her website. We found a template that perfectly embodied Laine’s vision. I customized it with her branding and added the killer copy from Big Mouth Copy. And before we even knew it, her new brand and website were open for business.

The End Result

Laine’s new website is edgier, sexier, and more aligned with the kinds of clients she wants to work with. It feels contemporary without being so trendy that it will feel outdated in a month. It’s Laine in a nutshell, designed to attract out-of-the-box couples who want weddings that feel like masterpieces.

But don’t just take my word for it. Go explore Laine’s new website for yourself! I promise, it’s anything but boring.

Website and Brand Designer For Bold Creatives

The best part of being a brand designer isn’t actually seeing the finished product, although that rocks. It’s seeing the confidence that the new brand and website gives to my clients. Laine finally feels represented by her online presence. From the moment couples land on her website, they know she’s not your run-of-the-mill wedding planner—and that’s exactly what we wanted!

If you’re considering a rebrand, I know what’s going through your head. It feels like a big, long process, and it’s an investment. But it doesn’t have to be as complicated or expensive as you’re thinking! You can do exactly what Laine did, which is invest in a custom brand and then use it to personalize a template. My website in a week package is built using a template we choose together, ensuring it represents you and matches your brand vision.

The goal is to simplify the brand and web design process and get your website working sooner. Interested in learning more? Click here to explore my branding and web design services! I’d love to learn more about your business. Fill out the form to get started.
