As a brand and web designer, few things light me up more than helping a business evolve into its next chapter. Mary, a New England wedding planner, came to me for my branding services for small business. She was ready to transition from her former identity, Party Party Fairfield, to something more timeless and personal: Mary Thornton Events. This wasn’t just a visual makeover! It was a full brand evolution designed to reflect the elevated level of service she’s known for. From her new name to her client experience, every detail needed to communicate confidence, warmth, and sophistication.
The Vision Behind the Rebrand
For years, Mary has been a leading voice in the New England wedding industry. Her original brand leaned heavily into a classic New England vibe. With navy blue, lime green, and preppy fonts, she had truly embraced her location and clientele! Over the years, however, she began to expand her reach and refine her ideal client. Now, she plans country club weddings all over the East Coast and destination weddings in Antigua and Jupiter Island. She wanted her new brand and website to feel coastal and classy, while being approachable and friendly.

My Branding Services for Small Business Process
Branding
Every project starts with a conversation. Through our calls, questionnaires, and Pinterest boards, I got a clear idea of what Mary needed her branding to do. From the get-go, I knew Mary had so much knowledge and experience to offer her clients. I built a creative strategy and presented all my ideas through presentations. We started with Tall Serif, a font that commands attention, just like Mary! And I honored Mary’s coastal New England roots with a preppy monogram-style logo with a block print icon.
Website In A Week
Next, we started her website design! Many people love the affordability of a website template, but are overwhelmed by the work they need to do to complete it. So I’ve begun offering a Website In A Week! I presented Mary with five website templates and explained why I thought they would be good for her business. She chose the Fitzgerald template from Tonic, and I combed through the template and removed anything I thought was unnecessary. I worked alongside Shira Savada of Shiramisu, a wedding consultant who helped Mary choose the best images for her website, to create the best possible template. Then, we sent the edited template to Taylor from Big Mouth Copy to write all those juicy words! This is why I love Website in a Week: no long timelines, no tech stress, just clarity and execution with the right creative partners.
The End Result
Now, Mary’s brand screams sophistication. Her website shows off her experience, knowledge, and passion for planning weddings. She stands out among her competition and connects directly with the people who need her most. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself!

Considering a Rebrand?
My biggest advice to business owners thinking of rebranding is to really ask yourself why. You know it’s time to rebrand when you are trying to reach a new market, or you’ve gained a deeper understanding of your ideal client. Rebranding just for the heck of it won’t help your business in the long run. When you work with the right designer, they will dig into who you are as a business owner, what you do, and who you do it for. Remember, it’s not about you. It’s about the clients you’re trying to attract.
Lucky for you, I have a ton of experience creating beautiful, strategic brands that act like a magnet for your ideal clients. Click here to explore my branding services for small businesses, or contact me to get started!
