Part of being a wedding stationery designer is paying close attention to trends in the wedding industry, particularly where paper is involved. As 2025 comes to a close, we’re getting a sneak peek of the trends for 2026! And there is so much to be excited about. From bold new colors to experiential designs, everyone can find something to love in these upcoming trends!

Stationery Trends for 2026

Die Cuts in Interesting Shapes

Die cuts are essentially cookie cutters for paper. You can choose the shape of the die (the metal part), and then we can use it however you like! In 2026, I expect to see lots of die cuts in unique and eye-catching shapes. Oval is taking center stage right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if couples find creative ways to incorporate all kinds of shapes into their stationery!

Take-Home Escort Cards

This might be my favorite stationery trend of 2026 so far! Escort cards are small pieces of paper that show your guests which table they are seated at. But they don’t have to be paper. They can be anything you want! In 2026, I expect to see escort cards turned into experiential keepsakes, like decks of cards or matchbooks. I mean, how cool would it be to get to pull out a deck of cards and remember your best friend’s wedding?

Handwritten Love Notes

I’m going to stop picking favorites, because they’re all just so good. I’m a sucker for personalization, so handwriting notes to your wedding guests will always get me teary-eyed. A few years ago, I helped a client create special notes for her guests. She didn’t handwrite them, but the intentional notes meant the world to her guests!

Blind Embossing

If you know me, you know I love color. But my favorite color combination will always be white on white. Which means I definitely had some strong feelings when Pantone released their color of the year for 2026. (Spoiler: it’s white). In stationery, the best way to pull off a white-on-white design is through blind embossing. Blind embossing is the process of creating a raised surface on a piece of paper, relying on the light and shadow to draw the eye, rather than contrasting colors. This timeless design method can elevate any wedding invitation suite, turning a simple design effortlessly chic.

Pockets and Folders

I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re going to see some really interesting pockets and folders in wedding stationery in 2026! Designers all over the world are getting more creative with how invitation suites are presented. Folders are being embossed, shaped, and even illustrated! I can’t wait to see how this trend grows.

Bold Colors

FINALLY. Bold colors have been underutilized in wedding stationery for far too long. While many vendors worried that Pantone’s color of the year would throw us back into monochrome designs, more and more couples are embracing bold colors for their wedding palette. If you want your wedding to be an intensely personal event, bold colors are the first step! Some people think that bold colors can’t be timeless and classy, but I disagree. Artfully pairing a bold color with a soft neutral creates the most appealing, yet still individual, color palettes and designs.

Textures

Okay, maybe this is my favorite trend for 2026. Velvet. Embossed Leather. Whatever texture you want to include in your stationery, I will support. Even the simplest textures can make your stationery feel special and luxurious.

I hope some of these ideas got you excited. And if you’re worried about your wedding stationery being too trendy and ordinary… well, we should talk. Because here at Fig. 2 Design, every piece is tailored to you. Everything I create is completely unique and out-of-the-box, ensuring that your stationery stands out, even if it follows some of these trends!
